It is desomorphine, a synthetic opiate, which gained popularity in other countries for being a cheap substitute for heroin. Those that were injecting it experienced skin necrosis that was unlike anything I have ever seen before. It ate away at human flesh like a zombie, literally eating these people alive. It was hard to stomach. But I’ll never forget the look and smell of the rotting skin. It was awful. I left the facility for a new job that same year and haven’t seen or heard much about this drug at all since, and I hope it stays that way. She was always immaculately dressed in designer clothes.
